2. Transfer contacts via sync with your Google account

1. Start by opening Settings and click on “Accounts.

4. Make sure that the “Contacts” option is enabled. This option must be turned on to sync your contacts.

3. Backup and restore the contacts file on the new phone

If you only want to copy contacts without the Internet or a Google account, you can make a backup copy of a vcf file that contains all the contacts in your phone.

2. Click on “Settings” in the menu.

3. Click on the “Export” option from the settings screen.

4. When the permissions notification appears, press “Allow” to give permission to the application. This will enable the Contacts app to access the photos, media, and files on your Android device.

5. Click on the “Save” button at the bottom right.

6. You can transfer the .vcf file to your new phone by copying it to your memory card or transferring it to a computer or cloud service such as Google Drive. When you transfer the file to the new phone, open the “Contacts” app, tap the menu icon in the top left.

7. Click on “Settings” in the menu.

8. Click on “Import” from the Settings screen.

9. Select “.vcf file” in the pop-up window.

10. All files will appear. Select the .vcf file that you transferred from your previous phone.

4. Transfer contacts from one Android phone to another using an SD card

If syncing via a Google account isn’t a good option for you and both your old and new phone have an SD card slot, you can transfer your contacts via the external memory card:First, download the Google Contacts app.

  1. Start by opening the Contacts app and then select the menu icon at the top left.
  2. Click on “Settings” in the menu.
  3. Click on the “Export” option from the settings screen, then choose the device.
  4. Click on the menu from the top right, then choose SD card.
  5. Click on the “Save” button at the bottom.
  6. Next, remove the SD card from the old phone, and insert it into the new phone.
  7. Log in to the Google Contacts app again.
  8. Then tap on the menu at the top left, tap on “Settings.”
  9. Click on the “Import” option, then select the vcf file, press OK, and click on the device option.
  10. Now click on the SD card, then select the same file that you exported before, which is in the vcf format.
  11. Now all contacts will be imported into the new phone.
